Stupid Service people at dodge

I called my local dodge dealer where i purchased my truck (Hazle wood dodge)

And asked about when i could bring my truck by to have them look into a reflash for the fuel mileage on my truck.

my truck wasbuild dec 2005 i have 8000 miles on my truck with 5" exhaust and i get in the ball park for 12ish. with my intake and programmer itl get like 13.5.

well she told me that becaue i have a 4x4 that 12 mpg is what the truck should get..and then was like yea that exhaust is bad for the truck and messes up the way the truck was designed its prolly reall hurting you.

i had to hang up on the lady before i flipped out.

Is there any dodge dealers that are any good in houston? willing to just take a look at the truck for me? without giving me a problems.

the window sticker didnt say 10-12mpg. so how could it be right? tosn of people are gettin 15plus a few mpg adds up with a 32 gallon tank

anyways.

what should a broke in 2006 crew cab dually 4wd with 5" turbo back exhaust aem intake and a bully dog triple dog on the 90hp setting get? id think 18 plus but 15-16 would be ok.

theres nothing wrong with your truck, your getting good mileage right now, you NEED to give it time to break in, it WILL get better.

i swear this needs to be a sticky, theres like 5 other threads going on about the same thing.

good luck

Brand new right from the dealership mine was getting 16.5 to 18. I don't think it is a "break in" thing.

He never mentioned how he drove, either. Of course, that does make a HUGE difference.

And you got the worst combination for fuel mileage also. Dualie, crew cab, 4x4...

My 06 Single cab, long bed, stick, 4x4 gets about 18 at 70, and Im bone stock...almost

Maybe that's the problem? Your puttin' gas in it!!!!! No, I'm just kiddin'. I would at least try the TSB flash for fuel mileage. It can't hurt anything in ur case.

Well I have a 2500 4x4, auto and 3.73 gear. It took 15,000 miles before my mileage improved much. Houston area driving is about as bad as it gets for a diesel truck of anykind. I still only get 13.5 or so with the 315s and all city driving. But on the highway cruise set at 78mph, TST 3/1 & EZ 1 I average around 19mpg, sometimes a little better. No telling how good it would be if I drove the speed limit.

You can give Helfman Dodge (www.helfmandodge.com) on I-10 and Silber a call, they have always done right by me.

I didn't have a puff of smoke... I had billowing blue clouds and all they did was the reflash..

Was good for about 2 MPG... Still mosiquito patrol every morning when I go to start my truck though..
