steering gearbox leak

It is leaking from the bottom shaft to the pitman arm. Is the seal or o-ring replaceable externally or do you have to go into the box? Also does anyone have an exploded view of the box?

Thanks, Les

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Have to pull steering arm off. It is generally very difficult and requires special puller. You destroy parts when trying to brake loose with hammer. Then lower seal is replacable. Should be readilly avaliable as kit.

So the seal is accessable without taking the box apart?

Make sure the power steering resevoir cap is venting before replacing the seal. After driving pull off the cap and see if it is pressurized as you pull it off.

A clogged cap would make it leak? It is leaking pretty badly.

Anyone have the torque specs for the pitman arm, steering box to frame and steering shaft to the box?

Thanks
