Someone stole my hood badge!

Well I was on a business trip to Dallas all last week, and came back to my truck in the Tampa airport long term garage, to discover that my hood emblem is gone. After exclaiming a few obscenities, I drove home. Has this happened to anyone else? How does one go about replacing it?

This is a "thing" with the kids. They get points in their gang for every different kinds of badges. Mercedes, BMW - - lots of points. Don't know how many a Ram rates. Really stupid. It is really aggravating when they tear up the metal trying to get it off. A friend found a bunch of different ones in a box in his son's closet. He confronted him with it - - he told his dad what it was all about - - he immediately reached over for the phone and called the police. The police then payed visits to the homes of this kids friends and collected some 300 badges, hood ornaments, etc. Maybe we should send them to Iraq and let them cut off their right hand.

Other than a child molester, I rank a thief as my least favorite individual. I am all for SmarthinkinBob's cure for these weasels

Good luck getting it straightened out!

I did not note a bug deflector in your signiture. The factory ones have the hood badge on them because they cover up the one on the hood. You could get a factory bug deflector and cover up where yours is missing.

Just a suggestion.

Go to the dealer and order another badge. Simple as that.

Thanks for the replies guys. It sure was frustrating to find it missing. How much should I expect to pay for a new one, and how do you install/replace them?

Is it just double-tapped on? I don't particulary care for it myself. You can have mine if you ever come to Austin. The dealer should be able to get one. Tell them it fell off .

Yeah, most emblems and badges are held on with double sided tape. A point worth mentioning is that my 03 has 2 badges....one on the bug deflector and one on the actual grill housing itself. You can't even see the one on the grill housing because it is blocked by the bug deflector.
