Scratched Windshield...
Scratched Windshield...
While on a bit of a road-trip last week, I lost a wiper in Tropical Storm Barry, and got a few good gouges in my windshield.
Luckily it is on the passenger side, so I'm not too terribly concerned about it...but just knowing it is there is quite an eye-sore.
Does anyone have any recommendations for polishing out a windshield without having to replace it? The scratches aren't very deep at all...it looks like someone took a scotch brite and rubbed it on the windshield.
Anyone?
Thanks
Shawn

Try using some "Cooktop Creme" they use it for polishing the Ceran C/T's.

Part # 20000001 Maytag if you go to an Appliance Parts Store.
Try it in a hidden area at first, I've never used it personally on Car windows, but a customer of mine uses it for his house windows.

I asked the same question for my fathers motorhome, got some very helpfull ideas. So far using #1000 and higher sandpaper has been doing the trick. I think he started using #600 and made it worse. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=149351
Last I heard he got it fixed. He wet sanded it and used a buffing wheel on his die grinder and took his time. The toothpaste was not enough grit. FYI
