Hey guys - I have some light scratches on the clear plastic that covers my factory intramentation. What porduct can buff that out and where can i get it? I know mcguires makes a plastic polish, but i cant find it!

Try a motorcycle shop, or boat shop and look for plexiglass windshield polish

u might also try a record store or computer store for the polish they use 4 CD's

 

Use ordinary Pledge and a really soft cloth. Never a paper towel.

 

you wax DSM plastic headlites (when they turn yellow) with aluminum/ metal polish.

i use Meguiars (sp?) alum polish, then regular car polish to take scratches off my bike helmets face shields. works great.

 

04ctd is right, metal polish works very well. i use it on all my plastics, including cd's

 

Best results can be obtained using Novus Plastic Polish #2 followed by #1. Not only will it remove the scratches but the #1 will leave the plastic with an 'anti-static' finish that will repel dust and the like. I use it on everything from the windscreen on my Goldwing to the lcd displays on laptops.

I've had great sucess with Meguiar's Clear Plastic Cleaner and Polish. Some auto parts have it or buy online here-

Meguiar's Sratch X Remover does wonders for polishing up plastic. I did that on my gauge cluster and I swore it was brand new.

 

Sorry for the delay, Home Depot should have it i think... might take a little calling around but anywhere that deals with plexiglass a lot will definately have it.

I actually ordered it from Penn State Industries, they are a supplier for 'wooden pen making and other ways to make sawdust stuff'.
