Removing scratch on motorhome window?

My dad's motorhome has a "rainbow" scratch on the passenger side front window. It was from the wiper blade. He says that it is not deep enough to feel with your fingernail but is visable thru the window. Is this fixable? If so what can I tell him to do. I would think wetsand by hand with #600 sandpaper may do it but do not want to steer him wrong. Wax would hide it for a short time.

I remember seeing a "Glass Restorer" in JC Whitney catalog... They market it to people with antiques with rough weathered windows so I am sure if anything would work >>> That would...
I wouldn't put sand paper under 1000gr to it.

Just seen on TV this morning a scratch remover, which stated good for all scratches including glass. It is available at most parts houses, as well as the famous "Wally World" ie Wal Mart. I believe it was renuzit scratch remover. I need some for the same problem. I'll get mine tomorrow.

Try white toothpaste on a damp rag and scrub for a while. I've used it to cleanup hard plastic and it works well.

And it prevents further decay and the onset of gingivitis.....

Thanks for the replies guys. He mostly wants to make it less noticable. The worst case is replacement but that will be $800 or so. I will give the information to my dad.

If he wants to fix it, check here:

Other less expensive options may make it less noticible.

if you use 600 grit paper you will be replacing the windshield, try it on a piece of scrap glass
