I used some 3M adheasive remover and Fishing line. This was on my 99. I took them off last November. Paint underneath was brighter. I waxed the truck, and now it all matches.

 

I live in NJ and I like the fact that I have a TEXAS truck dealership on my truck HE HE. But, now that you mention it I am worried about what'll happen a few years down the line when their sticker falls off and the paint doesnt much.
