Removing calipers
Removing calipers
My brother is changing brakes on his truck and is having trouble figuring out how to remove the caliper, any hints or links to a website to help? Any help is appreciated.
Take out the two 18mm bolts and pull up on the caliper? I don't know if the rear calipers use the same size bolt but I know the fronts are 18mm. Make sure you use threadlocker when putting them back in.
and do not open the valve when pressing the pistons back in, so a little at a time without opening the vlave, and you will not have to bleed them afterwards. Takes about two minutes total per side to compress the caliper pistons like this...SAves you the headache of bleeding..
