Converting 05 2500 to 3500 SRW?? Possible?

Hey all...

Finally getting ready for next years race season and am looking to get the tow rig ready for some heavy towing.

Our race trailer is a 28' Pace with all the options and with the car, quad, tools, and all other support equipment the trailer itself weighs in at right at 13,000 Pounds. I will also be hauling a second quad in the back of the truck on race weekends so that's another 500 pounds.

My 3/4 Ton squats a little more than I would like it too and I was wondering what the differences were between the 3/4 and 1 Ton SRW rear springs.

Could I just buy a set of the 1 Ton SRW springs and replace my 3/4 Springs?

Yes I know I can do airbags, but I am hoping to do both.

I also need to get about 1 inch of lift in the back of the truck to level out the "supposed" leveling kit I just put on that actually raised the front of the truck above the back. Will converting to the 1 ton springs fix this or will I need to get a set of blocks for the back?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The main difference with the 3500 rear springs is the overloads. I'm fairly sure you could bolt on a set of 3500 overloads on top of your existing spring pack without much trouble. However, the contact stops for the overloads are welded to the frame on the 3500's. That would make it more trouble that it is worth to add them to the 2500 since you would either have to weld or drill/bolt them on to your frame.

You'll probably be better off just installing air bags. That should also help solve your over-leveled condition, as they generally raise the rear of the truck some even when running empty.

What size leveling kit did you install, 2 or 3 inch? I am leveling mine, but I didn't want it over-leveled, so I am having a set of 1.5 inch spacers made.
