So on my 06 auto letting it idle in park is not good for the trans?

Don't know about the pump thing, never heard of that before, but I'm positive you could let your truck idle for a LOT longer than a few minutes without damage of any kind. Letting the engine idle for hours at a time would not be good for the engine, but damaging the transmission is highly unlikely.

Do a search on the subject, look for 48 RE and long idle times in park or ask your Dodge dealers transmission specialist, if he is knowledgable if not ask an independent transmission shop. For years the Dodge tranny is set up so that it does not pump fluid when in park, (don't know about the new 07 68RE) but all prior trannys do not pump when in park, thats why to check the transmission level your owners manual says in neutral, not park. Do not let your truck idle in park for long periods of time, anything longer than 5 minutes or so is considered long, put it in neutral and use the emergancy brake if you need to let it idle.

Putting a sentry key in the column is an old school not to mention lazy way of installing a remote start. The newest alarm/immobilizer bypass kits use data. No Key required.

Hmm I didn't know that about the idle thing. Up here in the winter it can get to -30 and I don't even turn my truck off till I'm done with it at the end of the day.

I priced out a car starter/alarm and they wanted $1000 install for one here. But he said it was top of the line and would start and tell u if someone was breaking in from a mile away.
