Recalibrating an 06 spedomiter

I put some 295/70/17 tires on my 06 3500 recently. From what I have read on here, the 06 computer will only go up to a size 285/70/17, is this true? I want to get it re calibrated so it shows true speed and mpg, has anyone been able to do this yet? Thanks.
