Rear Sliding Glass latch (broken)

Hey guys,

As the title states, rear glass "plastic" latch is broken. Hence, no way to lock that window. I stopped by the local dealer who told me that the latch is only sold with the sliding window itself ($200).
If I want to replace the sliding back glass (I have fadding on the piece above the sliding window as well, which is only remedied by replacing the whole back glass) looking at $680.
Just as a fun fact, I found out that replacing the whole back glass with solid glass (no sliding window) is actually MORE expensive (almost $800).
*These quotes are for the glass ONLY...God knows what labor would be. Probably looking at $1500 all in.

Any thoughts on where I might get this latch replacement and fix it myself?
At this rate it would be easier to throw a brick through the back window and pay the deductible (some might say that would be wrong....)

Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!
Thanks....

try an automotive glass company. I had to replace my rear window with the power slider and it only cost $500 & change installed. All control cables and new motor came assembled with the glass. Manual slider should be less.

I broke the glass in my truck one day when I was in a hurry throwing wood in the back of my truck. I called some different junk yards and found one for $75 dollars. A little research on how to put it in correctly and some goo-gone to get rid of the stickers on the back gave me a new window!
