Feel the heater core hoses under the hood, make sure they are hot. Sometimes, a no heat condition can mean a bad water pump.

ok heres what i found
the coolant level was a tad low. but even after i filled it to the proper level i still had no heat. this was after letting it set and idle for a half hour. this morning i went out and let it idle for a half hour again to let it get up to temp and i felt the heater hoses, both warm. opened the door to get in and hey i had warm air blowing. had my wife come out and turn the temp controll **** while i liiked under the dash at the blend doors. the firts thing i noticed was that they were in a different position than last night. she turned the **** over to the cool setting and the doors worked properly. but when she turned the selector back to the hot side ...... nothing they didnt move. ane we had cold air again. im gonna tear into it i guess and see if maybe theres a bad connection or maybe the actuator is defunk. im wondering if it needs to recalibrate itself fur some reason. any thoughts on that?

Sounds like the actuator could be bad. Remove it and check the door movement by hand. If it doesn't hang replace the actuator.

heres what i found. i removed the actuator and moved the doors manually. everything fine there. i ran the actuator through all the settings, it functioned properly so i figured that it must have had a bad connection and by handling it i had fixed it. i put the actuator back on and ran it numerous times from cold to hot. worked great. put the dash back together and ran it once more just to check it. it was set in the middle and i ran it to the hot side and then ran it to the cold side and thats where it stayed. uggg!!!!
