Look at the wires inside the door jam, I bet one of them is pinched. If that's not it, post up, I'll look at the door ajar wiring path.

thanks for the response...i posted then did some searching of old forum topics...ended up checking door jam on drivers side rear door, and 4, i repeat 4 wires were broke...anyways if anyone has a problem with any of their door locks/windows or speakers i would definately check the door jamb, i might even check the others to make sure all wires are in good condition

Yep, that's the EXACT same problem I had and it turned out to be the wires in the left rear door connecting to the b-pillar. I had to re-solder all but 2 of the wires (i think it was 8 out of 10 or so). Now all is well, until one of the other doors exhibits the same failure.

The rubber boot seems very tight in the hole.
That's what she said. Anyway, you first want to disconnect the harness and if you pull it back just a tad you'll see there are positive locking tabs on either side that you must squeeze in with your thumb and forefinger as you pull back on the harness. Once disconnected, then you can peel back the flexible rubber sheathing by hand, no tools required. I know, that's what she said, right? Anyway, you should be able to push the entire harness, sheathing and all into the inside of the door and then back out one of the openings in the side of the door where you removed the door trim panel from. You might have to unfasten a plastic retaining clip and/or another harness connector inside the door to give you enough slack to work with it.

Awesome post, I had the 4 broken wires as well. Talk about an annoying problem - "Ding door ajar" every 2 seconds while driving down the highway. The wires they put in the doors are pretty bad, I put 16g wires in the door wire boot as replacements. Thanks a ton!

Is it possible to unhook the source of the chime if the wires seem ok? Or do you think the latch needs replaced? The chime is annoying while driving. Thanks for any help.

i had this problem , wires were good , fuses good , latch worked . Tried everything and light would not go off .
I then realized the door handle is a sensor . I looked under it and there was a small amount of dirt .
I dusted off the dirt and low and behold the light went off and everything worked fine .
Just that tiny amount of dirt blocked the sensor and signaled door was not completely closed .
How simple ! This saved me thousands of dollars! Because if taken to a shop they would have torn the door down. And likely it still would not have fixed the problem unless the dirt fell off .
Hope this helps
