Radio problem

Radio worked fine yesterday. Get in the truck this morning to come to work, start it and the radio display is blank, i.e. the time is not displayed. All of the other radio buttons are lit up. Hit the on-off button and nothing changes. I car pool to work, so when I get to the meeing place, I turn off the engine.

1. I turn the ignition switch backwards and the time is displayed. I hit the on-off button and the radio comes on. So I return the ignition switch to the off position without turning off the radio.
2. My buddy shows up and gets in the truck. In the process of starting the engine, when I turned the ignition switch to the run position, the radio comes on, as it should. I start the truck and the radio is not on and the display is blank.
3. Get to work and turn off the truck. I try (1) above again the the radio does not work and the display is blank.

Any ideas?

Guess I'll drop it off at the dealer tomorrow morning.

Check your batteries & Connections. A few weeks ago my son didn't turn the ignition all the way off and the batteries were all drained down, when I finally got the truck charged up enough to start it, the radio would not work. The next day everything was fine.

Just got off the phone with the dealer. They said it was an intermittent short in the radio itself and was not the first time they had seen it. The fix is to replace the radio.

I have a couple NOS radios. Didn't see which truck you own or which radio, but the 2 I have are the round face RAZ radio. I think I even have an ad here in the classified section if you need.
