Yep...that's excatly the route I would go (5.9). My neighbor has an 08' MegaCab (which is sweet...I would love the extra room). But I think he has gone through 2 DPFs, and 2 turbos with that 6.7

Wow !! I don't need that headache for sure. Looks like a 5.9 for me then, rather spend money fixing it up the way i want it than worry about carring to the dealer every few months for engine problems.

I actually kinda like the simple interior. Less junk to break. Simple with leather seats works great for me.

My guess is the programmer may have been a little rough on the tranny. It doesn't help that i have a heavy foot.

Back when I had my 99 I almost traded for a new 06 but I hated the seats. I explained that to the dealer who started getting an attitude with me about it when I said I didn't want to buy the truck for that reason. I'm glad I held out for my 07.

Same here. I bought my 07 based on the CTD and simple interior w/ manual lights, transfer case, and simple a/c. The less bells and whistles, less headaches. Besides, it's a TRUCK. Mines been trouble free so far, but only 23K miles. I'm going to upgrade the stock trans w/ a shift kit/levers/solenoid. And maybe some heated seat grids.

Yup manual 4x4 lever here too. The valve body really woke the truck up. Take it a good shop that does these trucks and ask them to put a GM silinoid in it as well.
I'd like some heated seat grids too! That, speakers and Nav (for work getting to jobs around town) is the only thing I'd like.
