Problems to look out for
Problems to look out for
Ok so I have been lurking the board for a while (mostly in performance) but since i ordered my new truck and it should be here within the week. i decided to stop hiding from it and face the fact that a new truck may have some problems. What i have coming is a 2005 2500 SLT CTD 6 speed QCSB SRW. The only options i went for were the light group, trailer package, premium cloth seats, leatehr wrapped steering wheel, slider rear window, mineral grey paint and 4.10 gears with antislip.
Any how my question is what things should i inspect on the truck before accepting delivery and then what things should i look for afterwards that only can be found through driving.
I have read about no body plugs, little paint underneath, to bad vibes, rattles, premature rotor and brake wear, ect.
I understand that vehicles are assembled with allowable tolerances but i just want to make sure i get one where they are stacked in my favor.
Thanks for any additional info and advice!

Heck, I just jumped in mine and high tailed it home! I was more worried about what excuse I was going to use on the wife when she saw it sitting in the drive! I went to order her new Jeep Liberty and came home in this thing! It was on sale (it always worked for my mother)?
Didn't go over well with the wife, but she let me and the truck stay. Whhhhhooooooooo!!!!!

Chances are, you are getting a 610, if you end up with a 600, you should look into getting TSB 18-037-04, which has received a lot of attention on this board. If you need more info, here is the TSB.

Look underneath for non painted items and cab plugs underneath doors . Factory tapes the holes and dealers are complete idiots on them . Ordered mine online for a buck each and Dodge is reimbursing me
!!! Weatherstrip on doors is being redesigned I hear ......... they rip from door edge but are replaced free . Don't run over any innocent motorists while you're discovering the power and response of these beasts
