power steering pump failure

I bought a 2006 2500 about 2 weeks ago with 22000 miles on it and now the ps pump needs to be replaced. Anyone else have this problem?

Does it have a lift/bigger than stock tires on it?

It is completely stock. I was towing a 6500lb trailer about 100 miles. When I went to back it in its parking spot, the steering was as if I did not have any power steering at all. Once the truck cooled down the ps worked again. It did made a moaning noise when you turned the steering , I just thought that was a Chrysler thing.

Have you topped off the reservoir with ATF+4 yet?

It should still be under warranty. Let the dealer handle it.

Pump

Be aware the power steering pump also boosts your brakes.......loose your pump .....you'll have to stand on the brakes to stop

Well the dealer has had my truck for a week now and still no ps pump. It is being shipped ground. They did give me a car to drive. They said that Chrysler will not overnight or second day parts but they put me in a rental car at $40 dollars a day. Someone figure the logic to that one.

The dealer just called and stated that it is ready, they replaced the pump and the high pressure hose. The only good that came out of this, I got to drive the new Charger for a week and know for sure that I would never buy one.
