power steering failure

A guy I work with has a 2003 dodge 2500 ctd qc long box 4X4.

He said that his power steering went out the other day then started working again. But now he says it turns to the left fine but is extremely hard to turn to the right.

Any ideas on what's wrong. I told him I think it is still under warranty and take it to the dealer. He doesn't know much about trucks, cars or anything automotive. he does have alot of miles on it so he the warranty might be up.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like a steering box issue and not a pump.Pump dosen't know the differance from right to left.Valves in the steering gear does.
