popping out dings

popping out dings
The truck I just bought ('05) has some dings that I would really like to get out without involving a body shop. Has anyone ever tried the little suction cup ding popper? I found one that has 3 cups, you put 1 on each side and 1 right over the ding, screw the adjustment out out and the ding is supposed to pop out. It doesn't run but about $18 but I don't want it if its not going to work. If that doesn't work does anyone have any home remedies that will work?

Not sure where you are, but in Texas a good way to get small dents out is to leave the truck out in the sun, let the panel get nice and warm and use a small amount of dry ice and work it around the ding and it should pop out.
The little suction cups dont really work, even the paintless dent repair guys use either the tools they have(long rods) or glue pulling to get the dings out.

I'm SW of Houston. It gets plenty hot, but I have seen that tried before and it made a big mess. i suppose a good layer of road grime and dirt and they won't bother me that much.

I used the "Pops-a-dent" product. I was able to get some small dents out of my front fender where I hit a shopping cart. It works ok if you don't have a large dent. It uses hot glue to paste the puller to the fender and you let it cool. If you wait too long it might not come off after you pull the dent out. As usual, follow directions.
