Has anyone swapped out their stock horn for a "Beep Beep" Road Runner horn?
I saw i few on eBay for fairly cheap and thought it would be a cool horn to have on the truck.
It should be just "plug & play" shouldnt it?

I think people would laugh at you if you put that horn on your big truck!!

I think you also need a special relay that makes it beep twice so it sounds like the real Road Runner. I had one of those horns on my old 68 Road Runner but did not have the correct relay so I always had to hit the button twice....

 

Thats actually what i was going for....
Something different... Everyone expects a big truck to have this mean sounding horn.... and i would come rolling up "Beep Beep"

Dont get me wrong... I'm gonna keep my train horn for "emergency use", but i just think it would be cool to have an old Road Runner horn too...

I'm not so much worried about having to hit it twice to get the beep beep, but thanks for the heads up on the relay. I will look into that.

 

Well, I didn't notice that you had the train horn. NOW I think it's a great idea. You hit the Road Runner horn and if someone looks and snickers at it then you hit the big horn and scare the poop out of them. That would make a great Youtube video......

 

Well its diferent. you could alwyas get an aaahoooggaa horn haha one of my customers has one evryone smiles when he hits it BEEP BEEP is cool to tho.

 

On my uncle's '69 Roadrunner w/a 426 Hemi it had the horn your talking about but it only beeps 1 time when you push it. It goes BEEP, not BEEP-BEEP when you push the horn.
