Angry BEEP-BEEP-BEEP stop already!!

How do I turn off that annoying *** back up alarm?? If I even have my door open when I put my 03 2500 in reverse the **** horn honks! I won't even think about backing up. People look at me and I'm sure wonder why that idiot is honking his horn!!

I heard, 1-don't let Dodge flash your truck, but once it's done it's too late. No going back, 2-You can buckle the seat belt behind you, or 3-add a inline switch on the horn circuit that kills it.

Didn't some of the folks on this forum just jumper the wires under the seat that simulate the seat belt being buckled up?
----
Anyone got a comment on that attempt to stop the beeping?

Boy, never head of this stuff and I have an 03. My horn does not honk with the door open in reverse. I open it quite often backing into a space with the rig.

"Boy, never heard of this stuff and I have an 03..."
It will Fiver, if you ever get the ECM relashed for anything. Mines an 'O3 also and no horn honk. Had it flashed for something before the horn flash became a recall. Had it one time after, the tech said it had to be flashed for some meaningless issue. I asked if the horn flash goes in also, he said yes, that's the last time we ever saw each other.

This is said in pure jest and lots of LOL'S.
Why not learn to use and trust your mirrors and leave your doors closed. If I could post pictures , I would show you what I practice with every day.

Fiver Bob;; u will not hear it, but u may have a problem getting out and leaving it in reverse;; this is a auto issue. Originally caused by not being all the way in park, and going into reverse with john doe out of the vehicle, ntsb involvment dodge engineers tweak computer to honk horn when door is open and not in park;;; so when there is a flash for any reason you walk away with BEEP_BEEP_BEEP any time door is open and seat belt not secured..
