Overhead display died?

I was just driving my truck and noticed my overhead display is dead. I did install factory fog lights/switch and edge cts last week and I honestly don't know if it died after that. Anyone else has this problem? I'm gonna tear into it when I get home later...the truck wouldn't need to be re-flashed after installing fog lights would it? It was prewired...all I had to do was install the lights, plug them into the existing harness, and swap out my headlight switch.

If it ends up being dead, I have a spare that may work. I bought it over a year ago when I was trying to add the Homelink option to my truck. I was told it was from a newer truck like mine ('06), but turns out it wasn't. I can't use it because mine is the can-bus interface. It works to the best of my knowledge. I just recently bought the correct one for mine.

Sorry to high jack the discussion . . .

JHarbin,

I tried the same thing, and bought a used replacement overhead with the homelink awhile back, but it didn't work. It actually caused the truck's electronics to act up and the truck wouldn't start.

Was the one that works an '06 specific part? And did you have to have it programmed to operate or was it a simple plug in and go part?

Any information would be appreciated.

The one with Homelink that worked for me was 56044864AB. My old one was 56049824AB. These numbers match the service manual numbers for '06. Just plug and play for me. The one that DIDN"T work was 56049707AC.

I'm starting to think it might be my wiring of my backup camera into the reverse lights...after some more research everyone seems to say hook the camera up to the white/lime green wire and ground to the frame...I hooked it up to the white/lime green wire and the black wire
