over flow bottle????

over flow bottle????

I had no idea our engines had this item. Can any one give me a clue about the oil overflow bottle?

did the dealer tell you that. as long as it hasn't changed from 03 what you have is oil air seperator underneath the black cover on top of your engine that looks like the valve cover. the over flow line runs from that down the driver side of the truck to just above your front axle where it vents to the atmosphere. (aka dripping oil on your front axle) it is curious that they told you that as my dealer mentioned that to me also and i asked them to show me it, needless to say they couldnt. Let us know who told you that i am now curious.

Thanks for the info. I was told by a guy at work who has a 02. I have been looking for the thing for about a month now. It was a stupid question but I knew someone would set me straight.

I had an 01 and it had an overflow bottle, and im sure the 02's did too same generation motor. The 3rd gens do not.
