Onboard air questions
I have been tirelessly searching for pics/info for someone installing a York 210 compressor for onboard air. I haven't had much luck finding anything. I have called Kilby Enterprises several times (no answer) and sent E-mails with no response. I would rather purchase the bracket kit from them but it looks like they don't really feel the need to respond.
I would consider myself somewhat handy with welding/fabrication, just looking for some pointers, pics, or any other help I can get from the board before I start trying to build the brackes. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Looks like you might be over on the Train Horn Forums, too?
I know a few years back Brad Kilby sold off Kilby Enterprises, and ever since it seems their customer service has quickly and continually slid downhill .... even their forums have been offline for quite a while.
I'll send you a link from CumminsForum .... I don't want to upset the admins here with a cross post from there, but if shows how to build your own bracket.

I have also heard issues with getting info/products from Kilby for a while. Dont know if they are just slow to respond or just not doing business.
8 or so years ago I put an extremeoutback extremeaire compressor on my truck and have been happy with it. They also have a belt drive unit. I do not know if they make a bracket for it or not. I have mine mounted under the bed directly behind the pass side cab. I made a bracket for it so I could mount it up as high as possible and then made an enclosure for it out of some scrap diamond plate I had laying around the garage. You can't even tell it is there unless you crawl under the truck. I then mounted a 2.5 gallon tank under the bed above the rear axle using the rear cross member. While I dont have train horns my two horn grover setup works great. The tank does not hold enough air to fill the truck tires but just to top them off no problem. If I need more the compressor just kicks on with a pressure activated switch and since the compressor is 100% duty rated I can air them all up if need be, trailer tires, fishing float tube or whatever So far it has worked great with zero problems. My only problem has been that I have run a line to an accessable port with a shutoff valve on the end of it with a quick connect. Every couple years I have to replace that valve as the quick connect quits quick connecting. I guess the elements screw up the spring loaded ***** in the fitting or whatever is in there and while I can get my air hose in it wont lock down. So I just replace it I have tried covering it etc but still no joy. I guess $4 every couple years is no big deal.

I actually have the Extreme Outback EDC on my truck and did an install thread for it here on this forum. They do make a bracket and install kit for it, and the only modification I needed to do was replace my power steering lines since the kit called for bending them slightly so they don't rub on the serpentine belt included in the kit.
I've had it for a few years now, and the only maintenance I've had to do was add some CV-2 high-temp grease once in a blue moon and checking the serpentine belt for wear.

I had the kilby air compressor on my 07 5.9 and just took it off before I sold my truck. I installed it on a buddies truck two weeks ago. It was a fairly easy setup to install and it never gave me a problem. It was on my truck for 6 years. I know that they have opened kilby enterprises back up and take orders.
I just received my outback compressor for my 13 5500 and will show some pics when I install it. I plan on starting this week. After reading the directions, it looks to be a major PIA to install compared to the york. I had no options though as kilby does not make a kit for the 6.7. If they did, I would have purchased another kilby kit. I will see how the new outback works.
My 02, 07, both had the kilby kit. I will never have another vehicle without it.

I used 208, 209 and 210s in the 70s to make electric motor driven compressors. I always pulled the head and plugged the oil drain hole on the suction side. After using it for 30 yrs, I just scrapped a Thermoking/Trane 214 that I ran with a 3 hp 3ph motor, running on single phase with caps and a potential relay. It had a lot of coked oil on the valves but it still pumped fine. Craig
I have called and E-mailed Kilby numerous times over the last few weeks with no response. I've given up on them and started fabbing my own bracket. It's not easy at all trying to line up the belt and measure stuff at the same time lol. I spent a few hours this weekend working on it only to end up with it being slightly too high and hitting my hood. After some choice words, I figured out that I am going to have to move my intercooler pipe to allow room for the alternator to roll down more and give the compressor more head room. Once that is done, I'm going to give a full tech write-up.
C Schomer, are you talking about plugging this hole on the suction??

I just went to their web page and found this tidbit. It might explain why you're not getting any answers.
