Ol' Red Survived Today!

Had a close one today...kinda sorta. Had just left the babysitters house from picking up my daughter and came to red light with probably 18-20 cars, trucks, and 18-wheelers stopped at it when all of a sudden.....BAM!!!! A Ford Taurus stationwagon decided to disregard the fact that the light was red and slam right into the back of my truck . Luckily no one was injured but the same could not be said for the guys car. It was trashed. He left a few war wounds on my fashionable factory chrome bumber and bent my safety chain loops on my reciever hitch all up, but other than that ol' red was fine. Of all times to not have my phone with me....pics of that car on here would have been a testament to just how tough some of these trucks can be.

Glad to hear you guys are fine.

I always have my phone with me but just in case, I also keep a digital camera in the truck. Just hope I never NEED to take pics of my truck in an accident.

Wonder what caused the Ford driver to be distracted. Maybe talking on his phone?

I asked if he had a phone so we could call the crime stoppers but he claims he didn't have one. He was definitely distracted by something to not see the freakin 18-wheelers that were stopped that he flew past. Some people I just don't know about. Right after it happened I turned around to check on my daughter and she was just staring and giggling.....oh to only be 10 mos. old again.....I, however, was not giggling.

One item to consider after an accident is your daughter's car seat. The forces in a collision can sometimes cause unseen damage. This hidden damage may keep the car seat from properly protecting your daughter in the event of a future accident. Your car seat manufacturer may be able to help you determine if the seat should be replaced, even if considered as minor as a fender bender. The instruction booklet that came with the seat may provide the answer. If you no longer have the instruction book you can locate replacement instructions on the manufacturer’s website.

The insurance company responsible (Taurus driver) for the repairs to your truck should reimburse the cost of a replacing the car seat.
