Off road module power
Off road module power
I just bought a 400/800 watt inverter to use in my truck for running my laptop and charging my cell phone. I got it at Harbor Freight on sale for $200. I was looking for a power source to hook it up too. My owner's manual shows a 30 amp fuse (#9) for an "off road module." What is that? Is that just on 4 X 4s?
I think that what I want to use if for while traveling, the 20 amp power outlet will work fine.

"transmissin control system" (power wagon) and that, in turn, controls the "final drive control module". Fancy name for the locker switch stuff

Thank you for the replies. I do need to make one correction. The cost of the inverter was $20, not $200. Fat fingers I guess. I did make a power cord with a lighter plug. It works fine. I turned on the inverter and plugged in my lap top. The power plug is 20 amp. For a 400 watt inverter I should have about 35 amp but I will not be needing to draw that much power. They did provide what looks like a number 6 wire with battery clamps. The unit alos has two fuses built in.
Thanks again for the replys.
