O5 Ram questions

Talked the wife into driving the Hemi and letting me trade her 03 Grand Prix in on a 3500 Ram after XMas.I have a few questions, this is what I want.........3500 4WD QC SB Cummins Auto with 3.73s Flame Red sport.I going 3500 so whatever I need to tow I can though most loads will be 5000lbs to 11,000lbs.Does anyone regret the 3500 choice?I'm going 3.73s because we'll use it on vacation and don't like the 4.10 mileage results.I really like the Allison tranny in my Dads 8.1 HD,has anyone spent time driving both?

Go Big!

Your sig says your next truck will be a 2500?
My first CTD was a 2500 and I towed a relatively light 5th wheel. A year and a half later we bought a heavier 5th wheel and wished I had a 3500. Shortly thereafter we sold the 2500 and got the 3500. I said all that to say this; Buy the 3500 first and be done with it...Go Big! You won't regret it!

I think the 3500 rides pretty good considering my truck is a 12,200 GVWR.

They have the same suspension other than the overload springs on the 3500 - so the ride is the same until it is loaded down very heavy. So if you put alot of weight in the bed, buy the 3500. If you only tow, as I do, then I'd get the 2500.

I personally would not get the 3500 even if I were going to load my rig down. I'd just put the extra spring on a 2500. Why?, because I personally can't stand the looks of the orange lights that come on the cab of the 3500 . I put a lot of accessories on my rig and it kind of defeats the purpose to doll-up the rig just to have it look like a county work truck .

And it was one of the first things I looked into changing on my soon to be delivered rig. I am going to smoke every lense that isn't a turn signal. It will help hide all the extra colors and blend them into the black.

It's funny that you would buy a work truck and not want it to like like one

The cab lights are growing on me... but very, very slowly. Every time I see them, I picture some grandpa truck. You know, two wheel drive, ugly body moldings, 80s style pickup with tassles hanging off it. Ugh!

You just need to change your paradigm! To me it looks more like a mean, beefy, stout, 18-wheeler, big rig, p!ssed off hauling machine! That's one of the main reasons I'm getting a 3500 instead of a 2500!

One of the reasons I bought a 3500 was because my dealer couldn't find a 2500 with cab lights!

The "Cab Lights" are required by DOT because of the "Training Wheels" and the necessary extended wheelboxes.
