Non Fog lights to Fog lights
My truck did not have lights but it was part of the purchase. When i went in to have them installed I specifically told them I wanted the factory set-up to include the new switch not an aftermarket rocker. They informed me that it was not prewired so they had to add the rocker. Well, of course the dealer was full of you know what, I later found the connector after reading a post several months ago. My question now is if I choose to go to the factory set-up with the new switch can I keep the existing wiring in place to power some additional lights on perhaps a pre-runner/brush guard? I would like to put the factory setup in and just keep the existing wiring in place for future lighting upgrades. Thanks.

You might try a salvage yard. Probably less $.

https://www.authenticdodge.com/produ...roducts_id=474Just a reminder to those of you installing the fog lights with the rocker switch. You can run the trigger off of the parking lights. Pull the driver's side headlight bucket, remove the parking light and then remove the bulb from the parking light socket. Turn on the parking lights and meter or probe the 3 wires until you find the hot one. Splice your trigger wire into that hot wire and your fogs will work on low beams as well as high beams.
Hi All
Thanks info I got off this site.
Fog lights are for fog.
You need driving lights to see any distance.
Years ago (in the old days) a buddy gave me some F16 landing Lights (he said, he was in supply at an AFB), they turn night into day (any good off road lights will do) .I put them on KW semi because hitting deer at night with my semi in WI. got to be a hobby for about a year.
Anyhow there on my Ram now.
Got some rubber mounting cups(because steel rusts)and fab some mounts, and installed them were the stock fog lights were.
2 relays 1 each bulb (as they draw about 15 amps each),and hooked them to HI beem wire. Presto night= day for about 1/2 mile in front of me.
You will get people flashing there lights 1/2 to 1 mi. ahead of you to dim your lights.

i have an 04.5. when i bought the mopar fog light kit- mine did not come with a new ****/switch-that replaced the old one. mine came with a new small rocker switch, that i installed on the dash. i am able to run my fog lights independently of all other lights. when the kit arrived, it said for model year 06-so maybe that is why mine is different-but i like it!
