Noisy 03 Vacuum pump

My vacuum pump on my 03 dually is getting louder by the day. I have 79000 miles on the truck and everything works good (cruise, etc.) Anybody else run into this?

I didn't think the third gen trucks had a vacuum pump. More like a hydraulic pump for both the power steering and power brakes.... Beyond that, I can't help.

I would assume he has a jacob exhaust brake? (Comes with a big belt driven vacuum pump).

I think I've seen a thread or two about vacuum pumps failing. You could always put the stock belt back on and see if the noise is gone.

I could be wrong, but my understanding was that the stick shift 03's don't have a vacuum pump as the cruise control is all electronic and the go pedal sits in the idle position when in cruise, but that auto trucks use a vacuum pump and actuator so the automatic can read throttle position for kickdown?

Anyhow, if my truck has a vacuum pump, I haven't found it, but I see that genesag has an auto...

I just went and looked, and I don't see anything that looks like a vacuum pump on the passenger side wheelwell...

Can you post a photo?

OK. Like I posted, I didn't think my stick truck had one, but I've been known to be wrong before...

I didn't mean to get this thread off topic: Does anyone know how genesag could get his to run quieter, or what a replacement costs?
