Nitto AT VS. BFG AT

I will be in the market for new tires in the next 2 months. I have narrowed things down to getting 285/70/17 BFG ATs or 295/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I have always been happy with the BFG ATs on other trucks and they have never let me down offroad or on the street. A local dealer sells the Nittos for $10 less per tire installed so the price difference is only $40 total. I was considering getting mud terrain tires but I drive approximately 25,000 miles a year and I need tires to last 45-50k minimum. Does anyone know if the Nittos have triple sidewalls like the BFGs? I like the slightly larger sizing of the Nittos but if they are going to let me down on the beach or in the dunes, they are not any good to me. I have run over alot of things on the beach with the BFGs and they always hold air. I have also never popped a bead with the BFGs running very low air pressures. I would like to hear opinions about the overall toughness of the Nittos compared to BFGs.

While I've never done any sand duning with my nittos, they are some of the best name brand tires I've owned. I've got close to 20k on them now and they still have at least half the tread. That's with city/highway/light fourwheeling. In the mud they are pretty decent. They aren't a mud tire but they get the job done. They do alright at the beach if you count galveston as a beach.

Sounds like you answered your own question. Why mess with success? If mine ever wear out, I'll be putting BFG AT's back on.
