News on 07's?

Can someone give me the changes on the 07's? I will be buying a new Dodge around Christmas. I hope I will be able to still purchase a 5.9 Cummings then. But if I have to purchase a 07 I want to hear what changes might be coming? It might be already posted on this site somewhere. I just haven't had time to surf. The only thing I have heard of is the new emissions stricken motor that I really don't want.

Thanks

If you buy a Dodge you have to stop saying "Cummings" and start saying "Cummins"

It's rumored pre-Jan 1st production '07 will be just like the '06's. They'll have the same 5.9L and 48re. Trucks produced Jan 1, 2007 and later with have the new 6.7L and 68re/Aisin 6-speed tranny. I don't think anyone knows for sure what tranny they're going to put in the Ram passenger trucks, but my guess is it will be the same as in the chassis & cab model (Aisin).

Other than that, I don't think there will be any notable changes. There's a new look and interior for '06 so I doubt they make changes already. Little things may change - a new gadget or gizmo here and there, but thats probably it.

The numbers for the CC 6.7 and the HD 6.7 have been posted for a while now, they are not the same.

If you buy a 2007, not a 2007.5, then you can use the regular diesel. The early model 2007 will have the same diesel as the 2006's. But in 2007.5 there will be a re-engineered cummins diesel to comply will emmissions and ultra-low sulpher diesel. Luckily though, the HP and Torque numbers will only drop just a few digits, nothing noticeable.
