New guy- Just bought 2006

Hello, new guy here. I just purchased my first new vehicle. 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4, quad cab, short bed, auto, bright Silver. Today was a week that I have it. I bought it to tow my racecar in an enclosed 26' Haulmark EDGE trailer. 1973 Dartsport, super/pro car. I pulled this trailer setup ,the last 3 years with a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500, 4x4, 5.2 litre ,auto, quad cab, short bed. I can't wait untill spring time , to see how it tows!! Today, I installed the rear bed liners, mud flaps, Prodigy brake controller, and painted all the unpainted parts under the truck( driveshafts, front steering knuckles, steering box, and a few other things). I would have installed the Fog light kit, but they sent me the wrong kit. I won't use the truck during the winter, it will be in the garage. I like to keep it from rusting underneath. I own my own Auto repair business. I have been reading this forum the last few days. Lots of Good info here!! I hope to be able to help out here. Thanks, Paul.

Welcome to the DTR and wonderful world of Cummins.
I suspect you won't even notice the trailer behind you when you hook it up.
Just stay away from the 3rd gen performance section unless you want to spend lots of money. Once bitten you can never stop.

Welcome dartsport,
I too have joined the oil burners recently, upgraded from the 1500.

You will love the cummins - BTW, what are you painting on the underside of your truck with? - any pic's?

Hey DS....more than a few "moparts" guys here. I went from a 95 5.9 gasser to my present 01 CTD to pull my 24ft box. Pulling your trailer is going to become a joy in itself. Grades I used to have to "crawl" up at 20-25mph I can now do at 55-60. You WILL like that new truck!!
