New dodge with minor problems
I have 4700miles on my new dodge and had to bring it in for it's first repair.
My air conditioner just quit blowing air, I can hear the fan blowing but
no air coming out of the vents. had to roll down the windows for some cool
110 deg air here in Phoenix Arizona. I also am getting anywhere from 9 mpg
up to 27 mpg in the city (according to the overhead monitor) I think it needs to be replaced. these are minor problems compared to the 03 ford
powerjoke I traded in.
06 dodge1 ton,cummins,4X4 DRW,auto,quad cab,silver.

Hey welcome to DTR!
Sounds like you just have a problem with your a/c fan, or the little doors that route the air to the vents. As for the overhead console MPG, I don't have one of those, but from what ive read on here, don't trust it worth anything..it's pretty common that they are wrong. Normally the MPG of these trucks will sit somwhere around 21MPG...some get more, some get less, but thats usually about what you can depend on. Hope that was some help! You can find pretty much anything you need to know about your truck on this website!

My overhead is about 2mpg over. I got 8000 on mine and no problems at all except I am not sure my lumbar is staying set or moving on it's own. I am taking it to Tempe Dodge on Friday for the 2nd oil change and will have them check it.................and it is just as hot over in Mesa.

had the factory TSB done yesterday for the overhead console in my 05
dealer service said it will recalibrate for better accuracy and should get better mileage out of the rig.
21 mpg on a stock 3rd generation sounds like a stretch to me more like 16 - 18 empty
with mods you could see 21
i have the 05 drw and getting 16-18, compared to the f250 v10 i traded i am happier than a pig in sh... with my mileage
getting my mods together for a mileage/towing chip this summer
exhaust goes on this next week or so

Hi & welcome. I have only run about 3 tanks (1400 miles) thru my truck and so far am averaging 17-18 MPG…about 50/50 city & highway with about 200 miles towing a #6000 TT. I think “21 MPG” is on the optimistic side for a 2006, as they have the three event injectors to meet EPA regs. Also, the 6 speeds are not geared for economy empty (could use another higher gear). So far, my overhead is pretty close to hand calculated MPG. Ask your dealer about the "hard start/white smoke" TSB...some claim it will improve the mileage.
If you hear the A/C fan running, the problem is probably with the doors that route the air to the dash or floor, but hey, that’s what warranties are for! There have recently been several posts about A/C problems, so far mine is working fine in the 105 to 108 deg heat around here (San Joaquin Valley).
