Hello all. I just purchased a truck where the previous owner bairly used the truck but didn't do any of the mods...it was all the 1st owner! Well the problem come getting 2nd hand what mods were done!

Here is what I have been told; (and just a warning there are some Banks parts here and I have heard how against Banks most diesel enthusiast are. so feel free to give your opinion of the parts if you recognize them but don't me for what here! ;-) thanks)

I was told that there;
1) a stage I Banks kit which included injectors, and wastegate (not a kit like this on their site anymore, certainly nothing that has injectors. just a wastegate and fuel plate,{ by the way is this fuel plate any good?}

2) the Turbo was rebuilt "with a kit from banks or it may be a diesel company called bullydog diesel" (i'm familiar with bully dog but didn't see a turbo rebuild kit. also don't see anything like this from Banks on their site!)

I'm trying to get in contact with the orginal owner that installed everything to see if I can gain more specifics but no luck so far.

Any hints to identify Injector sizes if its not told to me?

Does anyone have anything similar to this that you can give me some leads as to specs as to what upgrades...if anything worthwile...my truck has?

Please help b/c I don't want to do any power-ups until I know what I have b/c I don't want to spend bucks on it and it already had compreable parts?

I am working on Track bar and steering stabilizer plans right now!

I wouldn't worry about the Banks stuff on your 12v...I haven't really heard any bad things about banks hardware, mostly just the electronic stuff. But I haven't any experience with anything from Banks.

 

I'm mainly trying to identify what mods have been done to it since I can't verify what parts are on it? (I'd hate to buy a set of injectors and find the P/O has already upgraded to that same size and he doesn't know what part it is b/c the original owner did it!)

are injector sizes written on them somewhere?

 

Having run a full banks powerpack,

i can tell you these things, one their fuel plate is not that aggressive, something like an 11 or a 6, theres pics of it in infidels gallery, secondly, banks did not offer injectors for a 12 valve engine. I know, mine had a full powerpack and all it came with was the 14 cm exhaust housing, gauges, the stinger exhaust, the fuel plate, K&N air filter, and the banks turbocharged old skool logos... U can have more power for less money than with banks, but for me it was a good baseline for my BOMBs... my truck ran at best with the powerpack about what a stock 99-01 duramax would run...

what is in my sig, is not a result of anything banks, minus the 14 cm housing...

It is a good start tho..
