Navigation system

I have the 2006 factory Navigation system in my 3500 2X4 truck. I use this truck to pull my Living Quarters Horse trailer on some long trips. I remember seeing the same or a similar Navigation system on other Dodge cars which had backup cameras. Has anyone ever hooked a camera to this system so you could watch the horses in your trailer without having to stop and check on them?

If it's your horses you want to watch, how bout something like this

I know it's a canadian website, but that unit is all wireless, so you could stick the camera inside the trailer, and it's reasonably priced too.

I've looked at this type of equipment before and it is often used for just what I am trying to do, but I was hoping to use the in-dash display with my current navigation system.

Tough with the current in dash. If you want it, there was a company in New York that you have to send the unit to in order to mod the unit (fee was about $300). Was dissapointing because I know other MOPAR vehicles have the back-up camera feed, but the ones going into the Rams do not. Maybe you could find a local shop to mod your Nav unit? I asked around but noone in Alaska would touch it.

Seems kinda silly that they put back up cameras in other MOPAR vehicles, but don't put them in the biggest vehicles they make..
Another dodge quirk I guess.

I realize you would like to link the camera with your dash nav system but may want to just get a camera system from these guys. http://www.rvcams.com/ They were very helpfull it was around $350 for the whole system. He even talked me into a cheeper system after I explained what I wanted. The camera works great even in the dark. The monitor sits in center counsel (sp), I only use it when backing up the the boat trailer. It even has sound, we use it as a second monitor for movies on the road.
