What a trip
What a trip
Well guys I made it. I got a wild hair and decided to get out of cali before the fires grew any worse. I left monday evening at 5 just to find out that 15 was shut off so I couldnt get up 70 like I planned and they had it shut off far enough to the south I couldnt get on get on 40 so I ended up taking 10 to Pheonix and then 117 to Flagstaff and then getting on 40. The total trip took me 22 hours. The trailer ended up weighing 4700lbs and I averaged 16.3mpg averaging 80mph. I was impressed. Its nice to be back in the midwest. Just filled up my truck this morning and paid $2.75 a gallon. Thats alot cheaper then $3.48 when I topped off my tank in cali. Overall good trip. I made it 3 hours from home before I got really tired. I was up about 36 hours total before I was able to sleep. The last 3 hours home about killed me but it was nice to be able to say I made it in one shot.
Good deal. Diesel here in southern Oregon is 3.52, that makes 2.75 look cheap. I was born in Indiana and I know what you mean about being back in the midwest, for the most part it is alot slower pace than out here.
