Most heavy duty brushguard?

What is the toughest brush guard made? Do any of them come close to the anti-deer protection that a buckstop or similar replacement bumper offers?

Ranch Hand or Lone Star make some good brush gaurds. They also make front-end replacements like the Buckstop that includes the bumper.

Nobodies brush gaurd offers the same protection as a front replacement because you still have the weak factory bumper that can bend back into the tire.

Here's how I see it:

Front replacement = hit deer and not care
Brush gaurd = hit deer, some damage, but you can still get where your going
Nothing = Deer in the radiator and your thumbing a ride

Get the full replacement if you can. Check out the tough country ''Apache'' in my gallery. Not to big or overly bulky. The way it is built most everything you hit will be forced under the truck and not through the windshield.

If you're into aluminum alloy look at the Ultimate Ute and Aliarc bullbars.

Reunel offers integral brushguards with their bumpers that are made from bar stock, not tubing. They're insanely heavy....but effective.

I can tell you from experience anything made by Westin is for nothing but looks.

My friend has a Westin grille guard on his F250. He ran into a wodden fence post going 35mph. The grille guard crumpled up and it still did $4000 worth of damage to his truck.

that's why you do a front end replacement, any other brushbar would do the same. the mounting point is extremely weak compared to the force of hitting a solid object at 35mph.

however westin's powdercoat is garbage, i had 3 of of their brushbars on my old truck. they did make good on the 5 year warranty. a front end replacement is the only serious choice for protection, brushbars are for looks.

My Ranchand Brushguard has hit a few objects with no problemo at all. The mount points are plenty strong. I lift the front of the truck up with it all the time on a fork lift and it does not flex one bit.

I have a Diamond B I really like it because it is unique in that it is square turned a 1/4 turn so it loks like a diamond. www.diamondbaccessories.com
