More AC problems Help

Need help before I cant afford the bill at the dealership anymore. I was in Florida and the air was running, turned truck off, started back up no air. Pulled levels for coolant everything looks good, replaced hi/lo pressure switch inline of compressor still nothing. Sent it to the dealer and they are talking about a TIPM module? Which they claim is the computer that all computers go into. They already have 2 hrs in it ($150) and they dont have a clue what is wrong.

Don't let them through parts at it and expect you to pay for it. That is the worst thing you can do. Make sure they understand that if they misdiagnose the problem that you are not paying the labor or part. I had an issue with my company truck a while back with the cruise. I offered my help in diagnosing the problem since I once was a tech. Long story short they put a new PCM and main engine harness to the tune of $3500 dollars and still not fixed. This was in Savannah, Ga where I work. Company was also footing the bill so I didn't have much say. I got so mad I stopped by my local Chrysler dealer that works on my truck. I borrowed a book, ask the Tech one question and found the problem in 15 min. I had a broke wire in a connector under the dash dangling around touching all kind of other wires in the main harness. Hit a bump and it would do something else stupid. So be careful. Make sure they understand if they don't have the knowledge to correct the issue then take it somewhere else. Electrical problems are the hardest things to track down sometimes and the mechanics to fix them are even harder to find. I would still be a mechanic but they don't want to pay so I had to go.

I agree they have already had dodge on the horn trying to figure it out. I got a feeling they are lost. I will be telling them that before they start throwing parts at it.

There was another guy on here with a very similar problem. His was a loose connector at the back of the a/c controls. Another thing a lot of people have seen in a wiring problem at the a/c pressure transducer. Lower right side of engine mounted on a line IIRC. Check the wiring there!

Got the truck back still no air. TIPM is the cause they say. I brought it home and double checked what you said and still no air. I took a test light to the fuse that runs the air I think it is 32 and has power to both sides but they claim this TIPM is not letting the power go from there. I miss the days when fuses and relays were easily replacable now you have to replace the whole fuseblock. 60 of them are backordered nationwide and no one knows when I will get one. I get to cruise around in 100 deg. heat with no air in my 40K truck. It does not sound like I will be getting one soon.

try the ignition switch. mine was melted between the power to the fuse and the power to the blower motor. no blower but the compressor would kick in, everything else would work in the truck. $25 for the new ignition switch from dodge, fixed the problem.
