Mopar Gauges
Mopar Gauges
Are the mopar gauges any good? I know they are made by Autometer but I wasn't sure if they are like the equivilant to the cheapest AM gauges or not.
Also whats the pros and cons to using electrical or mechanical gauges?

Sorry I do not know about the Mopar gauges .
Pros and cons of electrical and mechanical gauges to start with are:
Pros-
Mechanical: actual pressure, temp, boost, ect. of what you are monitoring
Electrical: easy to wire in and install just about anywhere just by routing some wire to the gauge.
Cons-
Mechanical: if reading pressure requires running liquid(fuel, oil, ect) to the gauge, that is mounted in your cab, ends up being plastic tubing or some time of rigid line(coper steel) that you have to bend and rout, it can limit placement of gauge, can require more parts like isolators to keep fuel out of the cab.
Electrical: uses sending units that usually ground through a resister to register on the gauge, and is not a true reading, a faulty sending unit could indicate you have oil or fuel pressure when you do not or can lie about the actual reading.
(this is why mechanics use mechanical gauges when testing if possible)
I am sure there are other pros and cons.
