MegaCab Mileage?

My Dad is now on his 3rd D-max (now a LBZ) and the mileage is terrible. I was just wondering what kind of milage you guys with a 4X4 MC are getting. Also, what kind of fueling upgrades are you having good luck with and what kind of mileage increase, if any, are you getting with them. Also, please explain any problems that you may have had with these trucks.

Thanks'

Adam

I have just over 1200 miles on my Mega Cab. I have been getting a steady 17. I made the switch from the D-max also. My truck is stock with the 48re and the 3.73

If you are getting 17 now just wait until you get 20,000k on her. The mileage always seems to increase around this mileage. The best thing to do is tow with her and this will help break the ol Cummins in!!

I have about 2k on my Mega Cab. I get about 14 city and 16 highway, but I have a leadfoot and I live in an area with a lot of hills.
If you are a flat-lander and don't have a leadfoot, you should get between 15 and 20.
I have not had any major problems with my Mega Cab, but there are a lot of little things I don't like. The driveline isn't smooth when taking off, and it has a launch shudder. I also have a driveline howl between 70 and 75. The engine also nevers seems to idle the same, sometimes it's rough, other times it's smooth.
If I had to do it over again, I would definitely take a longer look at a Ford or Chevy.

I get about 15.3mpg in town and I also live in a hilly area and have a lead foot. Towing on the highway with about 7000lbs I got from 10-15mpg (the lower mostly due to winds.) I have about 4000 miles on the truck.

I get 14-15mpg in town and 16-17mpg on Interstate at 72-78mph without trailer. Towing an enclosed cargo trailer I get 12.5-14mpg depending on speed (62-72mph).

14k on odometer

I have about 5400 on my 06 MC. I get between 15/17 in town and 17/19 on the highway. It seem to be pretty consistant.

Mega Mileage

Me 06 Mega 6 spd manual stock 3.73 rear end 2k miles on CTD getting 16-17 on "winterized" fuel which sounds ok? Towing 4k#'s ocassionally "slow" like owners manual says for now but after a bit going to be going to be 70-75 towing. Hope mpg stays the same or better at higher speed & "broken" in. (Will towing at high speed help break in?)
It will pull better than my old stock gasser Suburban thats for sure. It got 10 mpg going 60 mph and had a hell of a time staying at that speed on any "hill" at all.
