not correct. i ordered JUST the lumbar strap for my father's '05 from the dealership and installed it myself. my dealer also told me the other day that the individual piece is still available for the pre-06's just not for the 06-08 seats.

I wonder if the 05 seat parts will work in the 06? I am willing to bet at least the little white threaded piece is the same and I could remove the metal pin and swap only the broke piece? I might try to order this week for a 05 and compare to what I have. I will post my findings for others as soon as i can. thanks BroncoHound.

That's great to know that the parts are interchangeable between the 03-05 seats and the 06+ seats. Sure beats paying $400 for a new seat back! Great job, Mr. Brown and thanks for the update!

Don't bother explaining to the parts guys what you are looking for. Just walk in, hand them the part number, and say "order it." It seems to be the only way to get through with some of these parts counter knuckleheads.

Hi, so were you able to get the white plastic thing replaced? It looks to me like the plastic goes all the way around the metal rod. Does anyone know how to take out the metal rod ? BTW I was quoted today between 800-900 dollars to get mine fixed at the dealer. Of course I'm four days out of warranty.

Yep, I'll confirm the part is replaceable for an '06. Mine broke too, fortunately under warranty, and it was fixed without replacement of the seat back.

Check out this site. It was for an 03 electric one, but I do not see why an similiar repair could not be thought of for a manual one.
