Looking at making a purchase

I'm looking to move into the the Ram owners club.
The truck I'm interested in is an 06 2500 5.9 /48re,sportpkg quad cab with long bed .
It has the TTpkg ,tow mirrors , leather seating, and too many other things to list . Are there any factory ,or dealer options that I should look at ,or pass on ?
I generally don't tow a great deal ,and if I do it's not heavy or for a great distance ( 5k tractor ) . I do tend to haul a lot in the truck . (work tools ,and materials )
TIA , John

Good luck with your new truck! Sounds like you got everything. The main thing was those Tow Mirrors! I can't imagine getting one of these trucks without them. Everything else is personal preference imo.

I'd go for the 3500 as long as you have the option now. Ride quality is the same since the suspension isnt any different except for the overloads.

If you can afford it, the exhaust brake is definitly a brake saver (should be about 1800 installed by the dealer)

I actually use the fold flat floor quite a bit - it was one of those items I was initially going to pass on.

I was going to mention this. I bought my ram off the lot, as I wanted the NV and it was Spring, and it didn't have one. I kept checking Ebay and finally found one that wasn't ~ $200.

They're $100 if you buy it with the truck but alot more if you buy one from parts after your purchase.

Thanks for the inputs folks ! If I could find a SRW quad cab ,Id seriously consider one . But the SRW 3500's on the dealer's lot are all Mega cabs . Nice, very nice ! But I just don't require that much interior space . I need the 8' bed .
The truck I'm looking at does have the fold flat seats . They're just the thing I need for hauling some of my tools ,and keeping them out of the weather.
As to the TT mirrors ... My Sil has them on His truck . I like them better than the TT"s on my Ford .
I'm just hoping that I can reach a decent agreement with the dealership over the price . My wife got Her CRD from the same dealership ,and their service department has been outstanding . And as, I always use a dealership for servicing my vehicles ,it means a lot to me . John

Check out the Power Sliding Rear Window. I like being able to open it while driving, so you can hear if something is wrong with the trailer.

If you have a spouse that might drive it, she might enjoy the adjustable pedal option. Make the dealer throw in running boards too. Mine did for gratis. Buy your truck at the end of the month... if they are struggling to meet monthly goals, they get real creative.

The truck comes with the adjustable pedals . I always thought that thay were just a gimmick until I drove my Sil's truck . They are actually pretty darn convenient . I'll make sure to get the running boards . The wife is only 4'11" tall .
She needs all the help she can get entering a tall truck
The power rear slider would be nice . But to tell the truth, I've rarely used the slider on any of my trucks . A rear window defroster would be something I'd like , but this truck doesn't have one .
While I'm asking questions I've always had a bed liner with Bed rail caps to keep from tearing up the bed . I'm thinking about a spray on liner this time . Any thoughts positive ,or otherwise ??? Thanks , John

Make sure you get limited slip rear axle pretty exspensive aftermarket upgrade. Compared to the price on the sticker.

I think you are going to get just as many replies either way. Go with what you know and are comfortable with. Spray is nice, but soon turns ugly.. and some of the stuff cannot be repaired. There are new products on the market like Vortex that CAN be repaired if you get a cut etc. Color choices are much better too these days. You can pretty much match or come real close to truck color in most cases.

I am not a fan of liners, but anything is better than a bare bed.

I would get it without the plastic liner - once its in, you'll be forced to cover the area that it covers due to its abrasion of the paint.
I put an 80 dollar rubber mat in the bed of mine (Four Wheel Parts). Comes out easy enough if I want it to, doesnt leave marks, and its cheap!
