longest wearing mt

Hey everybody. Its time for new tires. I've been running nitto trail grapplers 295 70 17 and have been happy with them. Ive had 2 sets of them and have gotten around 35k out of both. Ive been hearing good things about toyo open country mt. Im looking for better tread life, i know 35k is pretty good for an mt, but wondering if the toyo is better. Anybody running this size, and if so, what are your thoughts? Btw, about 90% of my driving is on road.

I got 46K out of my Toyo M/T's, could have hit 50K, but I had one tire that was wearing oddly towards the end. The other three were still good.

I rotated every 1500-3000 miles, basically every 6 weeks regardless of mileage. I don't know if that's doable for you. I had free rotation/balance and the shop was on my way to work.

I switched to the ATII's this time to see if I could get 60-70K out of them since they are warrantied for 50K.

Thanks for the quick reply! I think im leaning more towards the toyos. i found a great deal on mastercraft mtx but im not sure how they compare. Also mickey thompson atz p3 looks like a pretty aggressive all terrain. Any thoughts?

Not sure if they are still on sale at Les Schwab or if you're even near a Schwab, but I got my new tires on March 20th and they were at that time.

Toyo MT's. Mine had 11/32" @ 19K when I sold them. Just a bit too loud for me but quiet relative to other brands I'm told.
They balance easily and after 800 miles handle super.

Thanks for the info! I really like the looks of the toyos and have heard nothing but good things about them. I fdont know much about the mastercraft mxt, but at $775 for 4 of them mounted and balanced, i think im gonna try em out!

I put almost 30kmi on a set of Toyo MTs, center treads siped, including about 5kmi with a 4500lb truck camper on the back. They wore very evenly, no cupping, etc with only a few rotations and still have/had decent tread left when I took them off recently.
I've run Coopers, BFG, Pro Comp, DuraTracs and these IMO have lasted longer than any of them. And I probably lost half of the tread just the one summer with the camper on it.
This was all in WA and AK, so lots of wet and snowy roads which helps tire life ALOT. Also not many burnouts, haha.

I ended up getting the mxt's. They look good and balanced fairly easy. I couldn't pass on the price. Hopefully they'll be a good tire! I'll post about how theyre wearing when I get some miles on them.
