There is one problem I foresee with black diamond plate or chrome......rust. Just something to consider. This is why I like the sprayed idea. It seals out moisture. Have mine on my '98 for 8 years now - no rust.

I have an 05 that is already showing rust in a few spots (lots of salt on the roads around here) I am wondering if linex on the rockers would stop this rust, or would it continue to rust behind the coating, with no way to treat it?

we've probably sprayed a dozen or so rockers on trucks, (i own a line-x dealership), and i'd have to say the best looking one was an all yellow S-10, really is sharp, i should have taken some pictures. on the rust issue, if whoever does it cleans up the rust good and spots it with some self-etching primer it will be fine, spraying over it with line-x or any quality product will take the oxygen away from the rust and kill it, as long as it's not at a seam where air and moisture can get at it from behind. still wont prevent it rusting from the inside out, which is usually the case.

Does anyone when the Line-X xtra is supposed to be available in colormatch formulas? An old post said the beginning of 2006, but I haven't heard anything about it. Thanks!!

Vortex does colors.... When looking for rust, make sure teh drain plugs remain open. I suspect you are getting water inside too... You need to give it a way to drain out... or all your money will go down the drain so to speak...
