Powered Sliding Rear Window

Anyone have thoughts, ideas, or experience on replacing the stock sliding rear window with a powered unit? Do you think the wires are there just waiting to be used? Will the stock switch fit in the dash? Wanted to order this truck to be perfect but got such a deal that I took one from the lot with 8 miles on it but this item was on my wish list.
First diesel-how could anyone not love'm. Pulls the boat like a dream. 20+ mpg on first highway trip (empty 1500 flat freeway miles) with only 2k miles and this was actual!
Still doing add'ons but I can't believe the difference over my 97 5.9 gas.

This kindoff falls in the same catagory as automatic hubs, My dad has on his truck when he drove it off the lot we opened it a couple times and that was it, I don't think he has touched it again. I personally put a solid rear window in mine.

I use mine a lot but lord it's a long reach back there. It was easy on the old truck (reg cab).

I had a solid window in my old truck because the truck I had before that was a pain to open all the time and that was the old style extended cab. I love the power option in the new truck and I use it quite often now that the weather is getting nicer! You could always have the dealership install it, might be a bit pricey, but they will probably warranty it better than an aftermarket place or you doing it yourself.

The power rear window is listed in the dealer installed accessory catalog.

The best use of the rear sliding window I've had was to accomodate a few pieces of longer lumber, instead of hanging them out the back of the track. Don't know how the power window frame will hold up to that abuse.

Not to flame anyone and I agree with having a slider window but "powered" ?..I must be getting old , cheap or both but some of this stuff is just something else to break down..
(Mine is a Mega Cab Crew so its a looonnngg reach to open mine)
Can you tell I drive a clutch ??

Not to worry, I feel no heat. I've just got to the point in my life where I feel I deserve to pamper myself a bit and this is just something I want and as I said earler I use the back window a lot.
Thanks for the input, I enjoy it all.

I used think air conditioning, power windows, automatics were a waste of money got old and I can!.....The power rear window works great! Good ventilation with the sun roof and no buffeting. The manual was worthless unless someone was in the back.....The power slider works good for getting the cans in the back!
