Servicing the Rear sliding window.

Anyone know on my 2001.5 Standard Cab, how you remove the sliding window panels? Appears that maybe you pull the guide out of the frame on the top and then lift the panels up until the bottom clears. Also need to find a source for the weather stripping around these sliding panels. Along the bottom, it has a single angled flap with fizzies on one the side and the glass slides on. Up each sides there appears to be two angled flaps (one in and one out) with similar fizzies. All three pieces appear to be glued (or some kind of 3M sticky) onto the frame.

You may have read that birds attacked my truck while I was snowmobiling. Left a pizza box in the truck trunk box behind cab, which appear to have set them off.

******* says to replace the whole assembly for $440.00 - NOT.

Help SNOKING

I suggested checking for a used one at http://www.car-part.com in another thread. You might also check to see if insurance would cover it.

Chris

Thanks, I saw that. It is a shame to take out a window that only needs some weather stripping. Still checking around. SNOKING

Re:Servicing the Rear sliding window.

Just got back from Auto Glass shop. SOL, looks like an insurance job and a whole new rear window assembly. Peck marks all over the outer frame also. FYI, I get to keep the two sliding window panels out of the old window. SNOKING
