Light on the primer coat?
I was sticking my head inside the wheelwell and noticed the back side of the panels on the bed of the truck are not painted the color of the truck, they are just primer color. (my chebby fender insides were painted).

Cant belive DC skimped on the backside of the fenders where typically most people dont clean, wash or otherwise take care.

Is everyone elses truck this way?

Do me a big favor and Stick your head in your rear fender and look toward the cab, see if it is primer gray or truck body color.

Hummin

"Yup" your right! I noticed this on mine last fall when I did the crawl around after picking it up. Another good reason to get the wheel well liners from the dealer, since Dc was to cheap to include them. Pete

It had the piece in the rear like the Dodge does stock, and a similar piece up front. However, the whole frome rail, and leaf spring were exposed. I don't consider that a wheel well liner either.

-Galvanized still rusts...
-stainless steel even rusts...(although the more chromium the better at resisting rust formation)
-even aluminum does when it is in direct contact with concrete.

I am not a big advocate of "rustproofing" either from my experiences restoring cars...you look for cars that were not rustproofed as those that are rustproofed are typically more rusty and contain more rot than those without.

I think it has something to do with the rustproofing trapping moisture between the panel and the application of rustproofing.

I am concerened of the durability and longevity of these parts if the panels is not backfinished.
