Leveling kit advise.

Hi everyone.
I'm planning to put a 2" leveling (spacer) kit on my 2008 Ram 2500 4x4.
I plan on using the Hellbent Steel 2" spacers.

I want to get it right so the ride is not harsh and steering and alignment are good. Don't want Death Wobble!

What should I get?
Do I need to lower sway bar? Or get longer end links?
Can I use my factory shocks till they wear out or should I get some billsteins now?

I know I'll need an alignment.
Also need to mention I won't be off roading the truck.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks
Donald

I have HBS but wish I had gone coils. The ride was horrible since I did some off brand shocks at the same time. Either run KYB Gas - a just or Bilsteins.

Yes take care of the sway bar. I think longer links are a better, cleaner, stronger solution over drop brackets. You can use the stock shocks in a pinch but you'll lose some down travel which could create an unsafe handling problem over some big whoops and could damage the shocks. I believe this to be most unlikely but possible never the less. Since your going to be installing the spacers you have to take the shocks out anyways so replace them if you can.

I put the leveling kit an mine and the end links for the sway bar eventually bent pretty bad.. I bought some 2" hitch receiver stock stock and spaced the front of the sway bar down and everything is lined back up now..

Can somebody tell me what model billsteins fit our truck? I don't want the 5100s. I want the regular yellow/blue ones.

Thanks!

Why "don't you want 5100's"?

Those ar ethe ones made for lifted front ends, the HD's (blue and yellow) are made for non lifted trucks.

I put 2" spacers on mine and some KORE sway bar blocks along with 5100's and I haven't had any DW, wandering or any of that, steers and tracks fine.

If you get bigger tires a steering box brace is a good idea.

I don't plan on offloading the truck and the yellow ones are more plush for street use.
I just don't know if I can get them in correct length for 2" lift.

Thanks

I have learned that with the leveling kit installed on my truck, the factory spare will rub if used on the front. I keep promising myself that I'm going to order a 1/2 spacer to stop the rubbing, so I won't have to move tires around should something ever happen to a front tire. So keep that in mind during your process to pick a kit. I guess there's no way to know until after it's done.

Never heard that before, rub on what? The steel wheel should be the same as the alum wheels I'd think. Besides, wouldn't 265's look kinda funny on a leveled truck? I had flats with my 285's on the front and had no problems with the 285 spare on the steel wheel.

You cannot get HD Bilsteins for the raised front end, see for yourself:

I have a CST kit and the rubber just near the edge of the rim rubs on the steering knuckle. Apparently CST does their front lift leaving everything in place, springs, shocks, control arms, etc. And you get a new knuckle with the spindle relocated lower, thus making the tire rub on the top of it. It just needs about a 1/4 inch spacer to move the rubber out away from it. I don't run stock rims. See my pics of the white 04. It was handy to only have to replace shocks with factory sizes and no hunting any specials.

Your is 2wd I take it?
He was asking about a 4x4, I don't get the whole idea of leveling a 2wd truck.

Yes 2wd. It takes away the sad look like the front end is weeping. Most folks think it's 4x4
