Got 2" Leveling Kit
Got 2" Leveling Kit
;D Could not resist and went and had the 2" Tuff Country front leveling kit installed today. ;D<br><br>I wasn't going to put it on as my 35" tires fit fine without it, but after conversing with our new buddy Commando today about the issue, I got to looking at the truck and decided it just did not look "4x4" enough. Soooo....<br><br>Check out the pics linked in my sig below, boys. Let me know what you think, I can take it.
<br><br>Still waiting on my stainless MAAP side tube steps - should be here in about 3 weeks.<br><br>Best to y'all<br>Bill

Re:Got 2" Leveling Kit
Utah, the truck looks great and your other pics crack me up, I gotta make me a wind chime like that.
So those are for sure 35's eh? You said they fit before the leveling kit? How much clearance did you have? I wouldn't of believed they would fit, but that's great. Who's leveling kit? Just spacers?
I just saw BFG has 285/70R17 Mud Terrains, I think that one is for me!!

Utah,<br>She definetly looks 4x4...to the max! I love the looks of the standard cab. The wife likes the storage space of the QC's but has not seen the behind the seat storage on a standard cab yet...she will tomorrow!<br>Nice lookin' machine!
Re:Got 2" Leveling Kit
;D Thanks, boys. ;D
------------------
jet - On my '96 and '98 Ram HD's I got some minor rubbing even with the 2" leveling kit. Not so with the '03.
Before the 2" lift, I had about 1" of clearance*. With the lift I've got about 1.5" of clearance.
* Clearance measured at the critical point for HD Rams - the bottom rear edge of the front wheelwell (with tire turned in to lock). That's where the tire will hit if you don't have enough room - very bad. Less serious is rubbing of the inside of the tire against the chassis - that's easy to solve as you can turn out your steering stops to avoid that.
The 2" leveling kit is made by Tuff Country and sold through JC Whitney and Les Swab outlets. I pulled up the Tuff Country website and found a place 1 mile from me by looking for the dealer links.
Gawd, I love this truck!
Best to y'all

Bill<br><br>Looks good! But I can hardly get my big butt into the regular size truck! Steps next week. And, the flaps, my poor eyes can't see them in the pics :-(<br><br>Hunter
Re:Got 2" Leveling Kit
That looks great, Utah. Just for curiosity, do you have a "before" picture you could put up there, too? Obviously I know what the new Rams look like, but to see the before/after side by side helps me.... visually oriented, you know....

But, there's plenty of stockers around here who've posted pics as they obtained their new trucks. Many are on this forum if you go back a month or two.<br><br>Best to y'all<br>Bill

Utah,<br> Nice looking truck, did you notice any difference in the steering or the ride after leveling your front end from stock ? <br>I had a '96 Ram CTD with 315's on it and they rubbed a slight bit when turning sharp even after leveling it.
<br>Thanks,<br> Roger

And, the spring rates stay the same. What does change is a bit of the angle of the front driveline - but it's not considered significant enough to impact things.<br><br>My shop guy says some trucks need an alignment after spacers are put in. That's not been the case with me. If the job is done without manhandling the suspension components, I don't see where the alignment would significantly change.<br><br>I put 35's on my 2 previous HD Rams too and also had some minor rubbing at full lock. None on this truck, nada, ziltch. I am very pleased with the results.<br><br>Best to y'all<br>Bill
